Install the layout extension to arrange the same document using different layout strategies. Change the selected layout and its options, inspect the result, then undo the arrangement through the diagram's shared history.

Layout providers operate on canonical diagram geometry. Their results are applied through controller commands, so selection, connectors, export and history agree.
